Clayton Eles was born in Bridgeport, CT and grew up in the neighboring suburb of Fairfield. The Fairfield Public School system provided his formal education from kindergarten through high school.
Eles' experiences in higher education began at Norwalk Community College and continued at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT, where he studied elementary education, journalism, and graduated with a B.A. in English and Professional Writing.
During the spring semester of 2002, Eles studied abroad in Glasgow, Scotland at the University of Strathclyde, making brief excursions to the Isle of Skye, Isle of Arran, Orkney, Glen Nevis, and Prekmurje in Slovenia.
While completing his bachelor's degree, Eles spent four years waiting tables in Westport, CT and also held a job as a special education paraprofessional at the middle school level in Fairfield.
Currently, Eles is pursuing a master's degree in education and English at the University of Bridgeport. Eles provides guidance and modeling that demonstrates for young people how to use literature as a means of gaining deeper understanding about themselves and the world around them.
